TWO young girls who lost their home in a fire have thanked a West Dorset community for donations to a disaster appeal.
Mike and Helen Long, and their daughters Jessica and Charlotte - lost their belongings when Chideock pub, The Clockhouse Inn, burnt down on Easter Monday.
The girls have handwritten letters of thanks to everyone who has donated items to them.
Jessica, aged 11, said: "To everybody who has given a donation, thank you all for giving away or buying things for me.
"I have received all of the things I need like toiletries, clothes, games, shoes and teddies.
"After the incident, I'd like to give a huge thank you to everybody. We will hopefully be opening again soon. I couldn't put into words how I feel about all of your support.
"We are so thankful that you have all helped us along the way."
Nine-year-old Charlotte said: "To all the people who helped us, thank you for all the clothes, games, shoes etc.
"I feel really happy."
A concert will be held by the Casterbridge Male Voice Choir at St Giles' Church on Wednesday April 29 at 7.30pm to raise money for the family.
Donations can be handed in at the Chideock village shop or online at gofundme.com/clockhousechideock
