A HIGH level police chase took place in Symondsbury this morning where a man wanted for robbery was tracked down.
Several police vans, a police community support van, police dogs and a police helicopter from Bournemouth were on scene trying to track down the man.
The search, near Miles Cross farm and Colmer's Hill, took place from approximately 7.30am this morning and the Bridport man is now in police custody.
Police apprehended the man shortly after 10.30am.
Speaking at the scene, sergeant Darren Stanton told The News: “A man in his 30s was wanted by police in connection with a robbery which occurred in Bridport in the last couple of weeks.
“The man failed to appear at Dorchester Crown Court. He is now in custody after the assistance of the police helicopter and members of the public.”
