TRAINING runs are being held to help joggers limber up for this year’s Mrs E’s Big Wheeze.
The annual, multi-terrain event takes place from Mrs Ethelston’s Primary School in Uplyme and the route follows river banks, leads through the woods and ascends hills to give a view of the sea.
Distances of 10k and 5k are available and a shorter fun run will also be held.
‘Friendly’ training session runs have been organised in order for people to be able to train together before the event. The training runs will be low key shorter runs where runners will be able to go at a pace to suit them.
Training sessions held nearer to the date will be set on longer courses and build up to doing a lap of the actual course.
These training sessions are held on Wednesdays at 6.45am, meeting outside The Dorset House Hotel and will last around 20 minutes. Longer sessions are held on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm, meeting at Mrs Ethelston’s School and lasting for around 30 to 40 minutes. There is no need to book to attend these training runs.
Entry forms are available from the school’s website and the closing date for postal entries is July 16 2014.
