POLICE in Bridport are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after a theft from a shop in the town.

A CCTV image has been released of a man they would like to speak to.

The incident took place at around 11.30am on Tuesday January 7 in Waitrose in West Street.

A man took two large bottles of red label Smirnoff Ice Vodka and left the shop without paying.

PC James Mullin, of Bridport police, said: “Following enquiries, I am now able to release a CCTV image of a man who may be able to help us with our investigation.

“I would urge the man pictured – and anyone who recognises him – to call Dorset Police, in confidence, as soon as possible.

“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 7:180. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
