PROPOSALS are set to be submitted to build 30 affordable homes in Beaminster.
Sovereign Housing Association is applying for planning permission to construct 22 houses and 18 flats at Flaxfield Rise.
Linda Bonnin, Sovereign development director, said: "We're really pleased to be working on proposals for a new development at Flaxfield Rise, Beaminster which will provide 30 much needed affordable homes for Beaminster and the surrounding parishes.
"The properties will be a mix of two and three bedroom houses and one bedroom flats and are designed to complement the area, maintaining the traditional street scene common to the villages of Dorset.
“The properties have also been designed to meet the national space standards which provides larger accommodation for families. We've secured grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency to assist with the delivery of the development which is intended to be for affordable rent."
Subject to approval, developers hope the new homes will be completed by 2019.
