A WEST Dorset firm has been busy raising funds for good causes this summer.

Kitson & Trotman Solicitors, which has offices in Bridport, Lyme Regis and Beaminster, has been raising funding for good causes at community events.

The company was the main sponsor of Martin Clunes' Buckham Fair, which raised money for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. The firm has also helped to keep rural crafts alive with hedge laying and ploughing competitions, organised by the Melplash Agricultural Society. The solicitors firm has also supported Beaminster Ladies Hockey Club, Beaminster Festival and the Cattistock Countryside Show.

Kitson & Trotman partner Richard King, said: "“Kitson & Trotman has been helping people with legal services since 1756, at all stages of their lives.

"We are also very connected to the people of west Dorset. We are very fortunate to live and work in such a wonderful part of the country and are pleased to support community events, which celebrate the good things happening in this area.”

Mr King, who was a judge in the rescue dog class at this summer’s Buckham Fair, has re-homed two abandoned dogs over 15 years. His latest dog, Spike, has come a long way from difficult beginnings to runner-up in the most handsome dog category at the Cattistock Countryside Show earlier this month.

Partner Tracy Scammell, said: "It is such a privilege to play a part in other people’s lives, whether it’s advising someone about buying their first home or making sure they have a will to protect loved ones.

"These are big moments and we all work hard to give the best service we can because it matters so much.”

Tracy’s horse, Grandanna, was named reserve champion at the Cattistock Countryside Show. She also entered Grandanna in the working hunter section of the Melplash Show last week. The company were also a sponsor at the Melplash Show, with the firm operating a ringside stand.
