THE interdenominational village service of Remembrance at St Giles Church is on Sunday, November 10 at 10.55am. Due to the War Memorial still being surrounded by scaffolding the Remembrance will be held in the St Giles Church. There will be an act of Remembrance at 11am, followed by a service for those who wish to stay.

A coffee morning will be held at Willow House, North Road, courtesy of Diana Lethbridge and Ian Dunn on Wednesday, November 13 in aid of the Roman Catholic Church Dome Appeal. Come along and join us for delicious coffee and cakes, raffle, bring and buy and cake stalls.

The village hall committee AGM will take place on Tuesday November 19 at 7.30pm in the village hall. After the superb attendance to their recent public meeting it is hoped many will come along to support the village hall. The election of a new chairman and a new committee will take place, together with discussing ideas for the financial support of the hall. New ideas and new people to help out are very welcome by the present committee.

If you have picked up your copy of the Bridport News early this morning please don’t forget to go along to the Weldmar Trust coffee morning in the village hall at 10.30am. This will be an opportunity to buy Christmas cards and support your local hospice.

May I say a big thank you to all those who have contributed books to my book box, which is placed in my porch during the summer months and which are sold for charity. This year more than £160 has been raised, which will go to the Bopper Bus and The Dogs Trust. Thank you to all those who have bought books over the year and helped raise funds.
