TWO decades after the last Miss Beaminster was crowned young Georgina Boyer has resurrected the title.

The Miss Teen Somerset contestant also wanted to raise money for Brainwave and have a little fun in the process.

Kirsty Fox, Janet Page and representatives of Brainwave were the judges and chose Mr Beaminster Edward House, five, Miss Baby Beaminster Grace House, two, Mini Miss Beaminster Madison Chant, 10, Miss Teen Beaminster Saskia Wakely, 12, and Miss Beaminster Kirsty Ellison, 14.

All candidates were interviewed and judged on their outfits.

Everyone won something including certificates, tiaras, crowns, sweets, toys and sashes.

The photography was done by Steven Powell and he is donating 10 per cent of his profits to Brainwave.

There was also an auction with signed celebrity pictures, along with a raffle and tea and coffee, donated by Clipper Teas.

Miss Beaminster Kirsty Ellison said: “It’s great to have won such an amazing event – I can’t wait till next year!”

The winners will be doing different charity events and appearances along with Georgina, who organised the pageant.

She arranged for Callie Whelton to be the presenter. Georgina said: “Thank you for everyone who came if was a great day and everyone had fun.

“I encourage people to recognise that pageants are not just about beauty – it’s about having fun and what’s on the inside!”
