Chefs to cook up a storm at Eat Dorset festival

Smoking barrels, Dorset sushi and deer demos will be centre stage at this year’s Eat Dorset food festival at Parnham House in Beaminster.

Local chefs including Mat Follas, of the Wild Garlic in Beaminster, Lesley Waters , Steve Lamb of River Cottage and Lee Stretton from Mark Hix’s restaurant in Lyme Regis wil be taking part in the event on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

As well as locally-sourced produce from more than 60 suppliers, there will unusual dishes to try including spatchcocked pig on an open fire, lamb buried in the ground and cooked ‘Hangi’ style and Dorset sushi.

Annette Smallwood, co-founder of Eat Dorset, said: “We are overjoyed by the number of highly respected chefs who have been keen to join us at this year’s Eat Dorset.

The food fair has gone from strength to strength and helped to put Dorset – and our neighbouring counties – firmly on the map as one of Britain’s finest foodie destinations in terms of quality, diversity and creativity. We’re extremely excited about this year’s festival and are sure that it will be one to remember.”
