A Lyme Regis blogger has recorded a year of the town’s life through a lens.
Pete Hackett has become a prolific ‘blipper’ and has uploaded 365 consecutive daily pictures on life to photo journal website blipfoto.com.
Freelance events technician Pete, 58, has been inspired by happenings in the town since August 2011.
His photos range from picture postcard shots of the Cobb to the more unusual, such as washed up water tanks on the beach and a local scrap yard.
He has also taken portraits of Lyme people such as Berry Pealing at Lyme Regis Town Mill Pottery and pram derby beauties at the carnival.
Pete said: “I’ve got a bit addicted to it.”
Pete said he is inspired by the artistic side of photography.
“I don’t like the technical stuff. I approach a picture more as an artist.”
Some of Pete’s work in events has got him up close to some of the action in Lyme which he has documented.
He has charted a busy year in Lyme which has included Artsfest and the Red Arrows during Lifeboat Week.
“Lyme is very picturesque. I used to travel the world for my work and managed to take some seriously good pictures.
“But Lyme has everything; it’s inspiration for postcard shots and everything else.”
Dad-of-one Pete said he got involved in photography after his divorce when he was staying at home to look after his daughter.
He said: “I saw a link on Facebook and thought I always take pictures so why don’t I do this? It’s a nice feeling to have put a photo up there every day for a year.”
