A LYME Regis fashion designer will be teaching at the Victoria and Albert in London in 2013 – and in the town.

Caroline Cottle, the originator of La Di Da label, has been working in design and fashion all her life having grown up with creative parents, and a large family of musicians, artists and creators meant she was destined to live a creative life.

She began her working life as a designer in London, then went on to create her own label La Di Da, with her signature Vintage feminine designs. After many successful years designing bridal and one-of-a-kind designs she was soon in demand for careers advice.

She has her own design studio in the Town Mill where she designs and makes her creations. She is now teaching beginners dressmaking and holding workshops for all abilities from complete beginners to experienced sewers looking for inspiration.

She also hosts after-school textile classes as well as her weekly classes, vintage inspired workshops covering circa 1920s to 1950s and Saturdays Sewfests.

She will also be passing on her knowledge at the prestigious V&A next year.
