The 14th Beaminster Festival of Music and the Arts burst open on Saturday in a haze of sunshine.
Local writer and Antiques Roadshow star Paul Atterbury got things going officially and the music played on all through the day – punctuated by lots of dancing and singing and general merry-making.
Almost 1,000 people filled The Square – families, friends and visitors, and DT8 – ‘the best band in the west’ – Jess Upton, Pete Quin and a host of other talents transformed Beaminster into a mini-Glastonbury.
Festival director, Tanya Bruce-Lockhart said: “All was quiet and peaceful shortly after 11pm and the goblins came with the dawn and cleared away any sign of a party!”
