Damage has been caused to a car after teenagers throw stones at vehicles on Portland.

At approximately 3.10pm on Saturday, May 4, a group of male teenagers, aged around 13 to 16 years old, were throwing stones onto traffic on New Road.

It is believed the group was standing near to the Olympic Rings sculpture.

Minor damage was caused to a car travelling in the area.

Dorset Police is now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police Constable Billy Taylor, of Portland Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This behaviour is completely unacceptable and could have very serious consequences.

“Throwing stones at moving vehicles can end in tragedy and cause expensive damage to vehicles and potentially injure members of the public.

“I am carrying out enquiries into the incident and would ask anyone who was in the area and saw a group of teenagers acting suspiciously, or has information about those involved, to please get in touch.”
