A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in an incident that prompted a large response by armed officers overnight, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident in Lutyens Square, Hardwick, Stockton, at about 9.45pm on Saturday (May 5).
Multiple police units, including armed officers, and ambulances converged on the scene.
A 49-year-old man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. Police said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers with weapons pictured at the scene remained in the area for a number of hours.
Officers surrounded Lutyens Square, while cordons were also placed at nearby Faraday Drive and Chadwick Walk.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "Police are investigating after a 49-year-old man sustained stab injuries on Lutyens Square in Hardwick, Stockton yesterday (Saturday 4th May) at around 9:45pm.
"The man was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
"Any witnesses to this incident are asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 82215."
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a private address in Stockton at 9.45pm on 4 May.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew, a specialist paramedic and the Medicar, and transported one patient to hospital for further treatment."
