EXPERIMENTAL theatre The Lyric is rounding off its clowning season with a double bill.

This weekend will see aerial acrobatics, anarchic comedy and clown boxing at the Barrack Street theatre.

Chloe Mantripp and Sven Hopla will be at this double bill of clowning on Sunday, September 23.

That's something a bit different isn't it? Yes, yes it is. Part surrealist comedy, part circus show, in Fisticuffs Sven leads the audience through the Faustian pack of circus life and asks what it means to be a man’s man in a performing arts world. Or does he? Oh and there’s sing alongs. A clown has your attention for an hour. What’s the worst that could happen?

In Unmarked Vehicle, delivering pies for a living is driving Chloe mad. Join out-of-work clown and newly established white van woman Chloe Mantripp as she attempts to navigate red lights, road blocks and lethargy from her aerial hoop.

Character comedy meets performance art via the circus... and the M6 division.
