A rotary Club ensured its stability for future years at the election of its new president.
The Presidential handover of the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis took place on a Stuart Line Cruise vessel during a tour of the River Exe Estuary, out of Exmouth. Rotarians, their partners, and a large number of invited guests, approximately 50 in total, enjoy three hours of cruising, a BBQ meal, and refreshments on a glorious summer evening.
Incoming president, Peter Fortnam, who has been a member of the club since 1987, thanked his predecessor, Les Baker, and his team for sterling work in leading the club through the previous year, where they had undertaken a number of service projects in the town and distributed in excess of £1200 in charitable donations.
Peter urged the Rotarians present to continue their good work in serving their community and in supporting those less fortunate than ourselves, both here at home and overseas, ans promised them a great deal of fun while doing it.
Peter welcomed his new team, which included John Berry, who will succeed him as president in a year's time, and Richard Main, who will follow on from John.
