Young dancers in Bridport are being invited to learn from the best at a week of dancing workshops.

Bridport Youth Dance will be presenting their Summer Dance Scene from Monday, August 6 until Friday, August 10.

The intensive week of dance is aimed at student dancers aged 13 years and above at an intermediate and advanced level.

For this year's event, the dance school has acquired the assistance of several guest artists to help with the workshops.

They include Carrie Willis (whose CV includes Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, Chess, McQueen, and An American in Paris), New Adventures dancer Nicole Kabera (Bourne's Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, The Car Man, Cinderella, and The Red Shoes), street dancer and choreographer Xavi Monreal, dancer Luke Robson and Tap Dogs star Craig Scott (Tap Dogs, On The Town, 42nd Street, Starlight Express, and Chicago).

Nikki Northover, founder of Bridport Youth Dance, said: "Having professional dancers such as Matthew Bourne dancer Nicole Kabera and top choreographers like Xavi Monreal as guest teachers provides a wonderful opportunity for anyone passionate about dance.

"Bridport Youth Dance has been lucky enough to have New Adventures dancers come to teach for the past 10 years at Summer Dance Scene.

"These have included Danny Reubens, principal dancer, Dom North, Daisy Kemp, Carrie Willis, Katrina Lyndon, Kate Lyons and Luke Murphy.

"If you love to dance and if you dream of being a dancer one day, you will love Summer Dance Scene."

The sessions, which are supported by West Dorset District Council and Bridport Town Council, will take place at the Bull Ballroom and Steps Studio, Crepe Farm Business Park.

Tickets are £25 per day or £22.50 for concessions, or the full week is £95 or £90 for concessions.

Only 20 places are available, so booking is essential.
