A trailer which came off a vehicle and collided with a gas main caused a leak.
The B3162 North Allington Road was closed during rush hour this morning as Police, the fire service and gas engineers were called after a trailer which had come lose from a vehicle collided with a gas pipe.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a call at 7.42 am today reporting that a trailer had come off a vehicle and collided with a gas pipe.
"Due to the risk of a gas leak, the fire service and the gas board were called to the scene.
"The road was closed between St Swithins and Parsonage Road."
Dorset Police announced that the road re-opened shortly after 9.40am.
