FIREFIGHTERS from one station have been called out to help at three separate crashes since Friday evening.

In the space of 15 hours, the crews from Bridport station have been alerted to help make vehicles safe following crashes in west Dorset.

In the first incident at just after 5pm on Friday, emergency services were called to a two-car crash on the A35 near Bridport.

A brigade spokesman said: "Fire control took a call from the ambulance service of reports of a two-car crash with people trapped. Two fire engines attended, one from Bridport and one from Charmouth. The crews confirmed that one person was medically trapped and worked with the ambulance staff to make safe."

In the second incident in the early hours of today, a car ended up on its roof in a collision at Yellow Lane, Loders.

One crew from Bridport was sent and confirmed that there was one car on its roof with nobody trapped. The crew made the car safe.

Then this morning at just after 8am a crew from Bridport was sent to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on East Road, Bridport.

The brigade spokesman said: "The crew confirmed that there was no persons trapped but requested the attendance of the ambulance to check over the occupants of the vehicles."

It is not thought anyone was seriously injured in any of the incidents.
