I don't think it was the weather forecasters who put off visitors
from the Rotary’s annual family dog show.
As a regular participant over the years I have known fellow dog owners turn up in all weathers.
When I queried the dearth of stalls I was told that ‘no one applied’.
Surely the nationally-acclaimed Dogs Trust could have been invited to participate?
Besides, it is not the sole responsibility of pet product traders to
‘apply’ for a pitch.
Why didn’t the Rotary Club invite former participants to stage a stall again this year?
Dog numbers were distinctly down at this usually thoroughly enjoyable show, I don’t suppose the dogs worried.
My dog Ruby stuck it out in the Fancy Dress class as a royal bride.
