"The society, very much like us at Bradfords, has a long pedigree and continues to keep the local community, particularly farming, at its heart.

"The show is going to be a great opportunity to entertain our customers at an event we know they love and an event close to the local markets' heart.

"We are looking forward to playing a key role in the future of what has become recognised as one of the best one-day shows in the south west."

The Melplash Agricultural Society was established in 1847 with the aim of promoting and improving agriculture and horticulture in West Dorset for the public benefit.

The society's showcase event always take place on the last Thursday before the August Bank Holiday.

"Their support demonstrates the importance of the Melplash Show to the local business community.

"All our generous sponsors play a vital part in the society and we offer our most sincere thanks to them all."

The 2018 show will see The Cavalry of Heroes attend, who will be marking the centenary of the end of the First World War, combining tricks and stunts on horseback with a sing-a-long and final cavalry charge.
