A couple of hair-raisers have braved the shave for a leading cancer charity.

Fin, age 10, and Max, age 7, from Bridport Primary School, took the decision to have their haircut in memory of their Grandad.

Their Grandad, Charlie, passed way 10 years ago from cancer.

The idea to take part was all their own decision.

Max said: "I wanted to help people with cancer because it's very sad that they get so poorly."

This sentiment was echoed by Fin, who said: "I wanted to do something to help other people."

Since deciding to have their heads shaved, the brothers have been growing their hair and haven't had a hair cut since December, 2017.

The pair braved the shave at their home in Bridport in front of family and friends.

At the event they sold cakes and drinks, as well as ran a raffle to help raise more money alongside their Just Giving page.

They made £695 for the charity.

Proud Mum Heidi, said: "We would like to thank everyone that donated and supported them."

The Brave a Shave campaign encourages people to shave their heads and stand proudly alongside men, women and children with cancer.

Chrissie Wathen-Neal, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support in Dorset, said: "A massive thank you to Max and Finn who took part in Brave the Shave for Macmillan, so far raising a fabulous £695.

"This will help us continue to reach and improve the lives of people living with cancer in Dorset."

The brothers are still raising money through Just Giving.
