A woman had a cup of tea thrown on her by a stranger in a pub. 

Police have issued a CCTV appealing following the assault in a Bridport pub.

At around 11.20am on Friday, February 2, a woman was drinking in the Greyhound pub on East Street with her daughter when a man approached her and threw a cup of tea over her.

The victim – a local woman aged in her 40s – escaped with no injuries.

Police constable Jake Woodbridge, of Bridport police, said: “The victim does not know the man or the reason for the assault. Following enquiries I am now in a position to issue two CCTV images of the suspect and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the pub at the time and witnessed the incident to please come forward.”
