A NEW solicitor has joined a Dorset law firm.

Alison Bartle-Tubbs, who lives in Beaminster, has joined Kitson & Trotman.

Alison, whose area is commercial and residential property with a speciality in local government administration, is working in the property team headed by the firm’s partner, Jason Hodnett.

Mr Hodnett said: “We are very pleased that Alison has joined the firm. Her experience and local connections will undoubtedly complement our property and local government team.”

Alison is married with two grown-up children. The family had a house in Stoke Abbott for 12 years before moving to west Dorset full time in 2015.

Alison knows the area well, having lived in West Dorset for a year as a teenager when she did her secretarial training at St James College, which was then in Bradpole.

“The area made a long-lasting impression on me and my family, and my parents retired here 25 years ago. I’ve been a regular visitor ever since,” she said.

“I grew up in Yorkshire so enjoy the open space here. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming.”

Alison worked for a number of years as a professional secretary before deciding to study for a law degree with The Open University.

She qualified as a solicitor in 2010 after obtaining a place at Guildford College of Law. She joined a law firm in East Horsley, Surrey, before taking a career break to be with her husband in the Middle East where he was working.

Alison said: “I’m delighted to be joining Kitson & Trotman in Jason Hodnett’s property team. It’s a very good, positive, forward-looking company.

“Law is about people and it is rewarding to be able to help people at important points in their lives, such as taking on new premises for an exciting new business venture or buying their own
home.”

Kitson & Trotman, which was founded in 1756, has offices in Beaminster, Bridport, Lyme Regis and Weymouth and provide legal advice and services to business and private clients throughout the South West, nationally and internationally.
