GET sleuthing as a much-loved Agatha Christie 'whodunnit' comes to the stage courtesy of Weymouth Drama Club.

Set in the early 1950s home of Sir Edward Angkatell, The Hollow has all the ingredients you would expect in an Agatha Christie play – odd characters, plenty of suspects and a juicy murder!

It will be performed at Weymouth Pavilion on November 2, 3 and 4.

John Christo, a charismatic and successful Harley Street surgeon, is invited to The Hollow for the weekend, along with his long suffering but loyal wife, Gerda. Unbeknown to Gerda the good doctor has been having an illicit affair with Henrietta, Sir Henry’s cousin. Whilst Henrietta is besotted with the dashing doctor, she is pursued by Edward Angkatell, a cousin, who in turn has a secret admirer in Midge, yet another cousin.

The tangled relationships and intrigue are further complicated with the arrival of Veronica Crane, a Hollywood actress, once engaged to John Christo. The scheming starlet has her eyes set firmly on prising the wayward doctor from his wife and successfully lures him into her bed. When he later rejects her proposal to rekindle their affair she joins a growing list of people, who would rather John Christo depart The Hollow feet first. During a shooting party the following morning they get their wish – but whodunit?

Agatha Christie weaves a set of dysfunctional characters into an intricate plot, where just about everybody has a motive to kill John Christo. Enter, Inspector Colquhoun and Sergeant Penny, of the local constabulary, who have the unenviable task of untangling conflicting stories and motives to discover the murderer. Who would be a policeman?
