People are being urged to take care as a flood warning has been put in place for West Bay and Lyme Regis.

The Environment Agency is advising people to stay away from coastal areas where the warning is in place, as there could be large waves.

For West Bay, the warning reads:

"This Flood Warning will be in force for 2 hours following the time of high water. Inner Harbour levels peak water levels are forecast to reach 2.12m with outer harbour levels likely to reach 6.67m due to large waves. The large waves are forecast to cause spray overtopping of beaches and defences. The forecast high water is at 5:15pm local time on the 16/10/2017 (4:15pm GMT). The Forecast Wind is South Westerly, Force 7. Take care in high winds, to stay away from exposed coastal areas and follow any instructions from the emergency services."

And for Lyme Regis: 

"This Flood Warning will be in force for 2 hours following the time of high water. The forecast high water is at 5:15pm local time on the 16/10/2017 (4:15pm GMT). The Forecast Wind is South Westerly, Force 7. Large offshore waves are likely to cause spray overtopping of defences. Take care in high winds, to stay away from exposed coastal areas and follow any instructions from the emergency services."
