THE deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset Colin Pipe is retiring due to ill health.
Dorset PCC Martyn Underhill has said this is one of a number of factors which has led him to take a step back from national commitments and focus on local issues.
He is withdrawing from roles with the College of Policing and Association of Police & Crime Commissioners (APCC).
Mr Underhill said: "After nearly five years as the APCC lead on Mental Health, I am passing the baton to my highly capable deputy lead, PCC Matthew Scott, who I am confident will bring fresh-thinking and vigour to the role.”
The OPCC is not seeking a replacement deputy commissioner at this time.
Mr Underhill added: “Colin has been a valued advocate for my office over the past two and a half years and I wish him well in his retirement."
