IT'S time to raid the fridge and find out if you're the lucky winner of an exclusive ticket to a working Dorset dairy before time runs out.

Following a Willy Wonka-style idea, Ford Farm cheesemakers in west Dorset is on the hunt to find the owners of five golden tickets handed out to visitors of its stall the Dorset County Show.

Only one of the five winners has stepped forward so far, meaning four more are yet to be revealed.

The golden ticket acts as a pass, giving the owner exclusive access to the Ford Farm dairy, hidden in the rolling countryside of Litton Cheney.

During a tour, the ticket owner will uncover the secrets behind Ford Farm’s cheese making skills.

Those who visited the Ford Farm stand at the show in September and purchased a 360g Coastal Cheddar, were in with a chance of finding one of the five hidden tickets.

Martin Crabb, head cheesemaker at Ford Farm who conceived the idea of the promotion based on his love of the Roald Dahl story Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, is hoping to welcome all the winners to the Farm on the allocated day of the visit – Monday, October 23.

Martin said: “Those who find the Golden Ticket will be invited for a money-can’t-buy experience at Ford Farm.

“When they arrive, I will shake each guest firmly by the hand, Willy Wonka style and then take them on a tour of the factory as my personal guest. The tour will be full to the brim with marvellous discoveries about cheesemaking and deliciously cheesy eatables will be made available along the way.

“Tremendous things will be in store for the winners including, as they depart, a luxury cheese hamper, worth £100.”

“The day of the tour will be the 23rd day of October. On this day alone, the winners will need to arrive at the dairy at 9am and will be permitted to bring one member of their family to accompany them.

“Don’t forget be certain to bring your golden ticket, otherwise you will not be admitted!”

Time is running out to get searching for your lucky ticket. For further information about the golden ticket, details of the prize and terms and conditions, visit the website at
