Tonight, Thursday, the West Bay Community Forum invites you to what promises to be an interesting and informative talk by Jake Lanning of the West Bay Coastguard. The meeting is scheduled for 7.30pm in the Salt House, although there will be coffee and tea available beforehand.

The Coastguard's work is essential to maintaining the public's safety especially with so many people dangerously exploring the East Cliff this summer. However, it does not stop there. Last week they were called to a woman missing in Eype, who, thankfully, was returned safely. So get along to the Salt House tonight for more insights into their work.

During Saturday night the fields off West Bay Road flooded leaving early morning dog walkers looking for alternative routes. Whilst this wasn't forecast, the river over spilled into its flood plain.

Summer is officially over. Last Saturday the Harbour Master, James Radcliffe, and his many assistants for the day oversaw the safe removal of boats from the harbour. Certainly the very indifferent weather on Sunday  seemed to say ' well that's it for another year'.

On Sunday morning starting sharply at 8 the Bridport Gig Rowing Club held an open morning in the Salt House. Members of the public were invited to join them for breakfast or a slice of cake. I managed neither, but hopefully may have been successful in the raffle!
