The skies above Lyme Regis were filled with colour as the famous Red Arrows took to the air to perform an awe-inspiring display.

The Red Arrows attracted record crowds during Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival Week as the mixture of sunny weather and carnival atmosphere provided the 'perfect cocktail for success.'

About 15,000 people flocked to the town to catch a glimpse of the arrows' stunning aerobatics.

Alan Vian, secretary of the carnival committe, said: "It went very well. The Red Arrows were magnificent; it was the best dispay ever and everyone has being saying so. We're delighted so many people enjoyed such a special day."
