A CYCLIST is fighting for life after being found injured on a road in west Dorset.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward after the man was found with serious injuries near Bridport.
It happened last Friday but information about the incident has only just been released.
At around 4.18pm on Friday, May 19 it was reported that a cyclist was found in the road near to Crepe Farm House in Symondsbury.
The cyclist – a 60-year-old local man - sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment in Southampton General Hospital.
PC Stu Smith, of the traffic unit, said: “Even though we have thoroughly examined the scene, it has not yet been established exactly how the man sustained these injuries while on his bike.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or the manner of riding of the bike before the collision, to please get in touch.”
