A FASHION company has given the stars of Broadchurch a makeover with a lookalike fashion shoot.

Symondsbury outfit, Colmers Hill Fashion aimed to “put some sass” into the wardrobe of DS Ellie Miller, portrayed by Olivia Colman in the ITV drama, which returns for its third and final series tonight.

Penny Callaghan, owner of Colmers Hill Fashion, said staff at the company are big Broadchurch fans.

She joked: “Ellie Miller’s look is rather dull and police-y – it’s hardly surprising she looks so fed up.”

Ms Callaghan added: “We’re big fans of the show and we think she deserves a bit more style and shape in her wardrobe.

“Also, we’re very proud of our beautiful Jurassic cliffs and those baggy black outfits were letting the scenery down a bit, frankly.”

The fashion shoot images feature local hairdresser Jane Briggs-Harrison and student Elena Wood as Olivia Colman, with Howard Bates and Harrison Emmett as David Tennant and Lucy Paull as Chloe Latimer.

Referring to the fashion choices, Ms Callaghan said: “DS Ellie Miller looks like she means business and her trousers have plenty of stretch so she can chase down a villain if she needs to.

"The brands used by Colmers Hill Fashion are a mix of Myrine from Antwerp, D.E.C.K trousers from France, Cocoa Cashmere from Italy and A Postcard From Brighton and Out of Xile from England."

Dorset fashion photographer Simon Emmett had the challenge of capturing the look on a blustery day at West Bay.

He said: “We couldn't have picked a colder, more windy day to do the shoot on but I think we captured the spirit of the Broadchurch characters.”
