Coastguard and lifeboat crews were called to reports of an unexploded device, but it turned out to be a polystyrene buoy.

The coastguard was called at around midday to reports of an unexploded device in the sea off Lyme Regis.

The coastguard team from West Bay attended along with the inshore lifeboat from Lyme Regis to search for the device.

However, shortly before 3pm the device was found and turned out to be a polystyrene buoy.
