COMEDY returns to the Pilot Boat Inn in Lyme Regis this week with another bumper line up of comedians.

This Saturday, December 3, the show will be headlined by Roger Monkhouse – a legend of the comedy circuit, regular at London’s world famous Comedy Store and a man hand-picked to appear at Banksy’s Dismaland attraction this year.

Roger Monkhouse has been a stalwart of the alternative comedy circuit for decades. He continues to be one of the most prolific writers and performers with a host of television and radio credits to his name.

Opening the show will be Cerys Nelmes, who was the star of the show at Lyme Regis FC’s comedy night earlier this year.

Cerys performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014 alongside the Pilot’s comedy resident compere Tom Glover in their show South Ciders.

Not for the faint hearted, Cerys is herself resident compere at a number of West Country comedy clubs and is loved by her crowds for her inclusive approach and razor sharp audience interaction.

Completing the line up is rising star Morgan Rees, who reached the final of Chortle’s Student Comedian of the Year 2016 and off the wall eccentric Bob Wildlife, a Bristol based answer to Steve Irwin.

Hosting the show as always will be local comic and resident MC, Tom Glover.

Tom said: “Due to the success of the club this year we’ve just increased our budget for the night so this month’s acts are the best yet.

“Roger Monkhouse is one of the most sought after names on the UK comedy circuit and a personal favourite of mine. Cerys gigged in Lyme Regis in the spring and the people who were there still ask me about her and Morgan and Bob are two of the finest new acts in the West Country today.

“I know December is a busy month for people but this will be a great way to get the Christmas celebrations started and a glimpse of what we’re going to be bringing to the club in the new year.”
