INDULGE in a night of soulful passion with a set by the sublime Jess Upton and The Guilty Pleasures in Symondsbury next week.

The band members of The Guilty Pleasures first met when rowing on the disco floor, to the strains of 'Oops Upside Your Head' in 1979. Later that same evening, they found themselves dancing around the same handbag.

That handbag belonged to Jess Upton: and an unbreakable bond formed.

Performing at Symondsbury Tithe Barn on Friday, October 21, Jess’s latest offering is a mixture of soul, disco, rock ‘n’ roll, or 'anything that makes you run to the dance floor to do The Hustle'.

Sharing the stage with the band on the night will be the brilliant Mutter Slater Band.

A key founding member of the UK rock band Stackridge, Mutter Slater returns with its latest album – The Champ.

An interesting listen, The Champ is filled with memorable melodies, stunning lyrics and a rock band that won’t quit.

Although he’s best known for writing quirky material, Beatles inspired pop music and prog-rock instrumentals in Stackridge, in Mutter Slater Band, Mutter puts his rock boots on and brings to mind the power and glory of 70s bands Led Zeppelin and Free.
