A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A35.
Police were called shortly after 4.10pm to the crash at Miles Cross, Symondsbury.
Four vehicles were involved and one woman had to be cut free from a car.
The air ambulance took a woman to hospital with serious injuries, though these are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
Vehicles reported to have been involved include a silver Volvo registered to a woman from Wimborne, a white Ford Focus registered to a company from Dorchester and a Volkswagen registered in Germany.
The road was closed in both directions between the Crown Roundabout and Miles Cross but has now been fully reopened.
A highways team was also been requested due to fuel on the road.
The closure affected people heading to Lyme Regis for the Red Arrows display this evening.
The incident caused delays through Bridport town centre.
