A site manager of a Lyme Regis development has won a Pride in the Job award.

Mark Couch, who is in charge at the Woodberry Copse development off Colway Road, has received a quality award in the 2016 Pride in the Job Awards, putting him among the top rank in his profession.

Run by the National House Building Council (NHBC), the Pride in the Job aims to recognise those who achieve the very best standards in construction and is the highest accolade that a site manager can receive.

The quality awards are decided by NHBC building inspectors who rate site managers on their attention to detail, quality of workmanship, technical expertise and leadership qualities.

Mark said: “I’m thrilled to have won a Pride in the Job award.

"It’s a great accolade not only for myself but for the team on site and the company as a whole. It is also a real testament to the quality of the homes we have produced at Woodberry Copse.

“The site is clean and well-organised, and I’ve got a very good team around me, which is hugely important. Because the site is on a hill it has been quite a challenging build, and I think the bespoke nature of the properties impressed the judges.”

Mark will now go forward to the Pride in the Job regional awards later in the year, where he will be competing to become one of 130 site managers to win a seal of excellence award.

Paul Baker, regional managing director at Bloor Homes South West, said: “At Bloor we are rightly very proud of the quality of our developments so we are delighted that Mark’s efforts at Woodberry Copse have been recognised with a Pride in the Job award.

“The accolade is a testament not only to Mark’s excellent leadership qualities, but also reflects the outstanding contributions by the whole team at Woodberry Copse, who have worked tirelessly to make the development a success.

“Mark richly deserves this award for his commitment and willingness to go the extra mile for his customers, and we wish him all the best in the regional finals later this year.”
