FIRE crews from Bridport were able to rescue a trailer carrying cattle, after the 4x4 pulling it caught fire.
Both Bridport crews were called at 12.08pm to Atrim Lane in Broadoak.
Two breathing apparatus wearers and two hose reel jets extinguished the blaze.
A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The vehicle was towing a trailer with cattle in it.
"They removed the trailer from the vehicle and secured the cattle in a field."
Fire crews initially called Dorset Police for assistance with the cattle, but they were stood down.
The incident was resolved at 12.47pm.
