The Dorset Knob Throwing and Frome Valley Food Festival takes place on Sunday at Cattistock from 10am to 4pm.

Besides knob throwing there will be additional fun knob attractions including knob eating, knob painting, a knob and spoon race, guess the weight of the big knob, knob darts and a knob pyramid.

*LET'S go fly a kite with Weymouth Kite Festival which takes place tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.

The family event takes place on Weymouth Beach.

*ENJOY a historic May Day in Dorchester with a Merry Medieval May Day at Maumbury Rings between 12pm and 2pm.

Visitors to the historic site will be able to enjoy a range of events including living history displays, cooking, spinning, weaving and arena combat displays with a chance to also take on the May Pole with a Wessex twist.

*GET into some hands-on science with the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival today, tomorrow and Sunday.

Enjoy walks, talks, theatre, music, comedy and exhibits. Events take place between 10am and 5pm.

*AN UNLEASHED Lee Nelson is bringing his tour to Dorchester Corn Exchange tonight (29) from 7.30pm.

Get ready for some audience interaction and some spontaneous moments, inspired by his Glastonbury stage invasion of Kanye West's set and attempting to bribe Sepp Blatter at FIFA’s headquarters.

*Compton Acres will be hosting their annual Japanese Weekend, celebrating the beauty of Japanese horticulture in their renowned gardens.

Beginning tomorrow and continuing until May 2, the weekend will showcase the magnificence of the Japanese garden in full bloom and there will be experts on hand to offer guidance on recreating a Japanese garden at home.

*THE Sherborne Abbey Music Festival will be hitting all the right notes with music fans this weekend and continues until May 3.

Around 70 per cent of performances during the festival are free entry.

*IT'S Tiger Day at The Tank Museum, Bovington, tomorrow, when the famous tank Tiger 131 will be in action.

The tank is the only running Tiger 1 tank in the world and will make an appearance in the Kuwait Arena at 1.30pm.

*BLANDFORD'S Georgian Fayre will take you back in time on May 2 from 10am to 6pm.
