STAR Wars fever is set to come to Bridport - and fans have a chance of winning their very own Clone Trooper.

Bridport Electric Palace cinema and the town’s Toymaster store have joined forces to mark two showings of the new Star Wars film this month.

They are giving away a 79cm Star Wars Giant Clone Trooper figure, worth £40, in a prize draw.

Bridport Electric Palace manager Susan Warren said: “We’re showing Star Wars: The Force Awakens on our new, big screen during half term and we wanted to do something special to celebrate that.

“So I approached Vernon Franklin, the owner of Toymaster, which is just across the road from us, to see if we could work together.

"He was only too happy to oblige and offered us this brilliant figure as a prize.”

The Clone Trooper is on display in the window at Toymaster in South Street, opposite the Bridport Electric Palace.

To be in with a chance of winning it, go to electricpalace.org.uk/star-wars or fill out an entry form at Toymaster’s front counter.

The draw closes on Monday February 29 at 5pm. The first name, drawn at random, will win a Star Wars Giant Size 501st Clone Trooper..

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (12A) is showing on Saturday February 13 at 7.30pm and on Thursday February 18 at 4.30pm.

As it is in half-term week and the film is likely to be very popular, tickets, at £4, are available in advance from the Palace box office (Tues-Fri, 11am-5pm, and Sat, 10am- 2pm) or online via seetickets.com.

The 12A certificate means a film is not generally suitable for children under 12. If they come, they have to be accompanied by an adult.

Classic Cinema on Wednesday afternoons continues its successful run, with The Wizard of Oz (U) on 17 February and The Great Escape (PG) on 24 February. The ticket price of £4 on the door includes complimentary tea and biscuits.

Evening films lined up for February are The Martian (12A) with Matt Damon on Tuesday February 16, Sunset Song (15) on Wednesday February 17 , Grandma (15), with Lily Tomlin, on Thursday February 18, and the Oscar-tipped Carol (15) on Saturday 20 February 20.
