IT WAS a question of meal or no meal when TV star Noel Edmonds came to Dorset.

Noel, 67, pulled up in his restored Routemaster outside Hive Beach Cafe, Burton Bradstock, on Sunday afternoon.

The red London Transport bus, which displays a Piccadilly Circus sign, was spotted in the car park at around lunchtime. Maybe he as going for some Late, Late Breakfast.

The Deal or No Deal host owns the bus, having bought it on eBay and nicknamed it Victoria.

The bus, which has more than a million miles on the clock, is often taken on the road by Noel.

Karen Venn, from Norburton Hall, was out walking her dog at the time of Noel's arrival. She managed to stop the radio presenter for a quick chat at around lunchtime.

She said: "It was quite funny because the whole day seemed a bit bizarre.

"I'd seen some weird things and then it ended up with a number 22 bus with Piccadilly Circus on it parked in the car park I used."

Having once lived in London and confused by the sight before her, Karen approached the bus to speak to the driver.

She said: "I went up to the driver and said, 'It's a bit of a long way from Piccadilly.'

"As I turned around I realised it was Noel Edmonds."

Bridport and Lyme Regis News:

Discussing his unusual mode of transport, Karen said: "He said it was basically a good way of getting to places. You always get a parking place and everyone is so friendly."

Karen said she was unsure what brought Noel to the area but he seemed to be in good spirits.

She said: "There was a group of people on the bus but I didn't stop to see if there was anyone else I knew."

In addition to Burton Bradstock, the bus has also been spotted in Poundbury over the past few days.

Noel isn't the first familiar face to be seen near Hive Beach Cafe. In the past, celebrities including David Tennant, Olivia Colman and Mark Owen have stopped by the area.

The cafe is located right on the beach at Burton Bradstock and has views of Lyme Bay and Chesil Bank.
