A CONCERT will be held for a Bridport mum to raise money to help with treatment for her incurable condition.

Talented musician Chloe Evans-Lippett was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) - also known as Joint Hypermobility Syndrome in 2013.

Volunteers are putting together a fundraising concert in aid of Chloe and Ehlers -Danlos Support UK to help pay for treatment. It is hoped Chloe can have her colon removed after it completely shut down - but she is currently on the NHS waiting list.

A funding campaign was launched to pay for a private operation due to the pain Chloe is suffering while on the waiting list.

Concert organiser Carol Irvine, said: "As well as the operation, Chloe needs a lot of support once she comes home, which can be very costly.

"The NHS said it might be able to fit her in during December, but she is in so much pain in the meantime.

"It is not an easy thing to live with. There is no cure, so it is just a case of having to live through the pain."

Chloe's joints dislocate regularly through the day, and she is forced to live with crippling pain and constant exhaustion.

She is well-known in the local music community and had a history of fundraising before being diagnosed with EDS two years ago.

Ms Irvine added: "Chloe used to do fundraising herself and she set up a website to help other people who have this condition and tries to give them hope and support.

"She also used to help run the local Munch Club, but unfortunately she cannot do that any more because of her health.

A lot of her friends and musicians know Chloe, but we want the public to be aware of what she is going through and offer any support they can."

The Songs For Our Songbird event will take place on Wednesday, December 2 at St Mary's Church in Bridport. The event, which will start at 7.30pm will include performances from the Bride Valley Band and Tinker's Cuss and many other musicians.
