A DORSET charity is welcoming a new chief executive and five new trustees to its ranks.

Ansbury, which aims to support young people, adults and the economy, says it is entering into a new period in its development as it welcomes people to the roles.

Nicola Newman, joining as chief executive, is the former director of communications and education for UK Anti-Doping.

She said: “I am delighted to have joined Ansbury at this time.

“Ansbury’s support services appear to be one of the best kept secrets in the county which is something I hope to change quite quickly.

“Feedback from those we have helped to find education, training or employment is excellent; as it is from parents, schools, local funders and national partners.

“Our goal is to work with educators and employers to ensure young people and adults realise their full potential and achieve success in learning, work and life for their benefit and hence that of the local and national economy and society.”

Originally developed from Dorset Careers, the team then became Connexions across Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole, and Ansbury in 2008.

Tony Crew, retiring chairman, said: “I now believe we are in a great position to move forward to take advantage of new areas of work and regard the excellent additions to our trustee team as key.

Nicola Newman joining us is fundamental as it will enable us to deliver on our aspirations.”
