A 67-YEAR-OLD man was seriously injured when his motorcycle was in collision with a car in west Dorset.
Police investigating the collision at the Beaminster Tunnel last Friday are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
It happened at about 4.15pm when a silver Toyota Yaris collided with a yellow Triumph motorcycle on the A3066 junction with the A356 to Maiden Newton.
The rider of the motorcycle – a 67-year-old man – was taken to Dorset County Hospital with serious injuries including fractures to his arm and knee.
The driver of the Yaris – an 18-year-old Weymouth man – is not thought to have sustained any injuries as a result of the incident.
Police, fire and ambulance emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed for a number of hours while the collision investigation team examined the area.
PC Sara Mackay, of Bridport Police, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact me.
“I would also urge anyone who saw the manner of driving of either vehicle immediately before the incident to contact Dorset Police on 101.
“I would like to thank the public for their patience during the road closures.”
