PACKED crowds came out to enjoy another successful Bridport Hat Festival.

Events took place across the weekend around the town with the main event taking place on Saturday afternoon in Bucky Doo Square.

The square was packed with people for the mass hatted photos before the best hats were honored in the prize giving.

Crowds weren’t just entertained by the variety and quality of the hats but also live music in the square.

Bridport mayor Cllr Sandra Brown was, as always impressed with the turnout.

She said: “It’s fantastic. I have seen it before but not from here, I’m usually in the museum.

“It is showing off what Bridport does best.”

Organisers were blessed with good weather throughout Saturday and the crowd was in good spirits throughout.

As well as at Bucky Doo events took place at the town hall, Millennium Green, the Bull Hotel and down South Street.

Events had kicked off on Thursday night with the hat auction to make sure everyone in Bridport had only the finest hat wear.

Events were capped off on Sunday with The Ropemakers Mad Hatters Sunday Lunch and the tea dance at the Bull Hotel to ensure it was a top hat festival.
