TWO people were rescued from the cliffs at Lyme Regis by the coastguard helicopter.
A member of the public called the coastguard’s National Maritime Operations Centre in Fareham at around 6.20pm on Wednesday evening to report two people stuck on the cliffs near the seaside town.
Lyme Regis and West Bay coastguard rescue teams were sent to assist and the coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-Solent was also sent.
A spokesman for the coastguard service said: “The two casualties were extracted by helicopter and transferred to a landing site near Charmouth.
“They did not require any medical attention and were safe and well.”
The coastguard rescue teams met the helicopter at the landing site and they issued safety advice to the casualties.
