FOR the third year running, Weymouth have been invited to play in the country’s elite pre-National League season opening tournament.

The event will be staged at the American School in Egham, Surrey, on Sunday, September 6.

The squad will be playing against five of the top-eight ranked teams in England.

They include Surrey Orcas, London Polonia, Team South Wales and London Malory.

Also entered into the event are Division One teams, Ashcombe Dorking, Hertfordshire and Worthing.

Weymouth will be using a squad that has been together for the last couple of seasons and will be captained by the experienced Polish player Anna Wachula.

The middle attack will be led by another Polish star Angelika Sierjiej.

The outside hitting roles will be taken by Yuri Chadavagh and Tasha Harvey, who signed from London Malory.

The setting roles will be shared by former Swiss Cottage player Chris Mededdu and Jojo Wei Choi, and coached by Ian Loke.

Weymouth are now firmly established in part of the top flight of the English tournament volleyball set-up and serious thought is being considered as to whether the club should enter the 2016 English National Knockout Cup, where they would have a significant chance of honours.
