Arsonists torched a Land Rover in an early morning attack.
Firefighters rushed to the Co-Operative supermarket car park on Sea Road in Bridport shortly after 1am this morning, after receiving multiple calls that a skip was on fire.
However on their way to the scene, Dorset Fire and Rescue Service received further calls that confirmed it was a car that was on fire.
On arrival, the car involved, a Land Rover 4x4, was found engulfed in flames.
Crew members used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze. Unfortunately the car was completely destroyed by the fire.
DFRS have passed the incident on to Dorset Police to investigate the cause.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Police were called at 1am this morning to reports of a car on fire in the Co-Operative car park along Sea Road North, Bridport.
"Enquiries are still undergoing at this stage. It's believed to be suspicious."
