ONE person was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a property in Bridport.
Firefighters were called to a fire at a domestic property at Jessop Road at 11.15am which had been sparked by an electrical fault in a tumble dryer.
A neighbour of the property had managed to drag the tumble dryer out of the property before firefighters arrived at the scene, and it was quickly extinguished by firefighters using one hose reel jet.
The tumble dryer was completely destroyed by the blaze, and the neighbour was treated at the scene by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue Service said: “We would like to take this opportunity to remind you not to put yourself in any danger in a fire situation.
"If it is safe to do so - close the door to the room where the fire is and leave the property.”
