POLICE have raided a Bridport house in a drugs operation.

Two Dorset Police vehicles and a Dorset Police and Magna Housing community van were parked in East Street carpark.

Officers are currently stood outside an archway leading to a property in East Street.

Inspector Mike Darby of Bridport Police said: "This morning we executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in East Street.

"This is in connection with the ongoing action targeting London-based drug dealers.

"Officers from Bridport and Bournemouth police, including a drugs dog unit, are searching the property and enquiries are ongoing."

He added: "Residents of Bridport have been extremely helpful in helping us identify locations where offences may be taking place.

"I would urge the community to still contact us on 101 when they see suspicious activity."
